INTERLACHEN, Fla. -- The First Coast News On Your Side team made a couple calls and was able to help an area woman get an important check cashed.
Mary sent us an email saying she has a check for her husband's life insurance plan, but can't do anything with it.
She said a check for $457 dollars came from her husband's life insurance agency after he passed away in December.
She says the company paid off a furniture debt the family had, then sent a check.
But she said she can't do anything with it because it's written out to his estate, which she said doesn't exist.
First Coast News called the life insurance company, who said they are working on this issue and will be in touch with Mary directly.
Monday afternoon, FCN heard from Mary that she took the check back to the furniture store and they cashed the check for her Monday afternoon.
