JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The On Your Side team was at it again on Tuesday. This time, helping viewers with a myriad of problems including an apartment mold problem. FCN even surprised a viewer who's suit pants were allegedly locked inside a Mandarin alterations shop.
Problem: Katelyn who lives along University Boulevard said her apartment has a mold problem. She is worried about the health of her family.
Solution: While she was showing FCN her apartment, a man claiming he was with the apartment complex owner asked FCN to leave, but said tenant health is a top priority.
The man went on to say this was the first they had heard about Katelyn's mold issue and that the complex will help her family by working to get rid of the mold.
Problem: Gloria told FCN she was having extended warranty issues with the refrigerator she bought from Lowe's less than two years ago. She said Lowe's had been out five times to fix her Frigidaire refrigerator.
Solution: FCN called and Lowe's spokeswoman, Amanda Manna, told FCN they'll take care of Gloria and honor her warranty. Gloria tells FCN that Lowe's will replace her refrigerator.
If you're in the same boat, do what Gloria did. Call the manufacturer and the place where you purchased the appliance.
Gas prices are down. FCN went around town and saw some stations at $3.10, $3.12, $3.16 and $3.14. AAA said gas prices are down nation wide because of things like lower demand and abundant supply.
Problem: Carlos wanted to port or transfer his home phone number from AT&T to a new carrier but said he was having issues.
Solution: FCN called and AT&T spokeswoman, Rosie Montalvo, said
"There is nothing preventing the customer from porting or transferring his phone number to a new provider."
Montalvo said AT&T called Carlos to explain how.
If you want to, all you have to do is call the provider you want to go to and start the portability process. It's free in some cases.
Problem: Lastly, Elliott said his suit pants are stuck at a Mandarin alterations shop that unexpectedly closed.
The thing is, the pants are part of a suit that he got as a graduation gift. He said it is his only suit.
First Coast News decided to help him. We reached out to Presbyterian Social ministries and surprised Elliott with a brand new suit.
"Wow!" he said as he saw the suit. "Thank you so much! Wow! That totally wasn't expected! That's really nice of you guys!" he said.
