JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Donors are asking us how they can donate financially to Tyler Southern, the local marine, now a triple amputee, almost killed in Afghanistan.
An investment advisor, Troy Davis, is working with Tyler and his new wife, Ashley, to help them set up a secure financial future.
Tyler's plans are to stay in the Marines for another 20 years as a motivational speaker.
A local IT consulting firm, ACTS, has stepped forward, as well, to donate their services for Tyler's financial future.
ACTS has created a secured way to donate through PayPal.
If you'd rather send a check, make it payable to Tyler and Ashley Southern and send it to:
c/o Davis Capital
4788 Hodges Blvd.
Jacksonville, FL 32224
Or go to Operation Thumbs Up
Troy Davis, with Davis Capital Management on Hodges Boulevard, will be handling the checks for Tyler.
ACTS owner James Farhat said his IT firm wanted to help because it believes Operation Thumbs Up is a good cause. "We have retired military as part of our company and have always appreciated the service all the military give to our country."
Operation Thumbs Up rallied the community to help throw a wedding for Tyler.
The next phase of Operation Thumbs Up is to help build Tyler a new house in St. John County. It will be especially outfitted for a severerly wounded veteran.
