First Coast News Offers 'Super' Opportunity to Budding Commercial Producers

Jacksonville, FL (12/21/11) - First Coast News; the duopoly of WTLV/WJXX, announces the creation of a unique challenge, The First Coast News - "First For You" Super Commercial Contest.  This competition will  provide the chance of a lifetime to a promising local video creator: to produce a commercial that will air in the pregame shows on  Super Bowl Sunday on WTLV-NBC12 , February 5, 2012.  The one television event each year that is watched as much for the action in the game as for the commercials that surround it, the Super Bowl is acknowledge as the "grand stage" for the best commercials ever made.

To sweeten this deal even further, the winning producer will be paid $5,000 for the effort, and be offered a freelance contract to produce four more commercials during 2012 and to be paid an additional $1,000 for each. 

Commercials will promote the theme "First Coast News - First For You" to highlight First Coast News's market -leader position as the newscasts that provide accurate, solution-oriented stories to First Coast families on television, online, on mobile devices and in social media.  Contest entrants will follow a few guidelines but will be free to allow their imaginations to take off.  Entries will be judged by an internal panel of experts to determine five finalists.   Viewers will then vote for their favorite finalist entry online at  The producer of the commercial receiving the most votes will be the contest winner.

Prospective commercial producers can begin submitting their creations on Wednesday, December 21th by visiting  Entries must be received by midnight on Wednesday, January 18, 2012.  Online voting of the five finalists will be open to the public and begin on Saturday, January 21, 2012.  The commercial that receives the most votes as of midnight on Wednesday, February 5, 2012 will be declared the winner.  The viewing public will find out for the first time which commercial won when it airs on WTLV on Sunday February 5, 2012.
