ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- A shooting at an Internet cafe near Orlando has renewed debate about smilar local facilities.
The shooting in Apopka happened after three suspects tried to rob an Allied Veterans cafe. The armed security guard shot back, hitting and killing one of the suspects.
Police there are blaming the Internet cafe, saying it is taking advantage of a loophole.
Kelly Mathis, a Jacksonville attorney who represents Allied Veterans, said blaming the Internet cafe is like blaming a bank for a robbery there.
Allied Veterans is based in St. Augustine and operates Internet cafes across the First Coast.
