JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bolles football coach Corky Rogers is back at work this week for the first time since having emergency septuple bypass surgery in January.
With more than 400 career victories, Rogers has more wins than any other high school football coach in the state of Florida's history. In his 23 seasons at Bolles, Corky has guided the Bulldogs to 10 state championships including the latest in the 2011 season.
Rogers was planning to have shoulder surgery in January when it was discovered that he had seven blockages in his arteries that required emergency surgery.
At 68 years old, Rogers plans to be back on the practice field in time for the beginning of spring football in May. He says that he will take his time to make sure that he is feeling well enough to do the job with the same amount of passion and energy that he's always had.
