CRESCENT CITY, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested a man for a shooting after a woman called 911 and then hung up.
Around 8 p.m. October 27 deputies went to a home in the 100 block of Lar Lane after a woman called 911 and hung up, according to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
When police arrived at the home, they found 84-year-old Paul Harley sitting in a chair just inside the front doorway.
The release said Harley told deputies he had shot a woman inside the home.
When deputies went inside, they found 52-year-old Rhonda Rockwell in a bedroom with gunshot wounds to her right wrist and right hip.
Rescue personnel transported Rockwell to Shands Gainesville in stable condition.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office took over the investigation. They brought Harley to the sheriff's office where he was interviewed.
After the interview, deputies arrested Harley and took him to the Putnam County Jail. He was booked on a charge of aggravated battery. He is being held at the jail without bond.
