Police looking for man who robbed Columbia County Chevron

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Columbia County Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for the man who robbed a Chevron at gunpoint.

Sergeant Ed Seifert, Public Information Officer for CCSO, said the robbery happened around at the Chevron in the 3800 block of North U.S. 441 Wednesday around 6:45 p.m.

Seifert said a man came into the store with a small, silver handgun demanding money.

After the clerk complied, the man fled the store. Seifert said witnesses told police the man got into the passenger side of a waiting car that drove north on U.S. 441.

The man who held up the store is described as being a white male in his late teens to early 20's, approximately 5'9" to 6' in height, wearing a black and white plaid hoodie over a white t-shirt with saggy blue jeans exposing black underwear.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the CCSO at 386-758-1095.

You may call Crime Stoppers of Columbia County at 386-754-7099. Callers to the Crime Stoppers number may remain anonymous and be eligible to receive a reward up to $1,000.

Seifert said the suspect is to be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, you are asked to call 911.
