ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- No students were injured in a bus crash that happened Monday morning at I-95 and State Road 206.
Joe Purvis who is in charge of transportation for St. Johns County schools, said the bus was full of children but they were not injured.
Florida Highway Patorl troopers at the scene said the bus turned off I-95 to exit onto State Road 206.
As the bus stopped, a maroon SUV driven by 43-year-old Darla Boyd rear-ended the bus. The SUV became lodged under the bus.
Police closed the SR 206 exit ramp for over an hour as crews worked to clear the crash.
Boyd was taken to Flagler Hospital in serious condition.
According to a crash report from FHP, Boyd hit the bus when she was trying to retrieve an object that fell off the passenger seat.
Tropers cited Boyd for careless driving.
The students were loaded onto a new bus and then taken to their original destination, Pedro Menendez High School.
