JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Repairs to the railroad crossing near Beaver Street and Ellis Road will completely close Beaver Street this weekend.
The repairs are scheduled for take place from 9 a.m. Saturday, December 8 until 5 p.m. Monday, December 10.
The railroad crossing being repaired is the crossing at Beaver Street and Wamsley Road, Mike Goldman, spokesperson for the Jacksonville branch of the Florida Department of Transportation said.
Wamsley Road is located on Beaver Street between Ellis Road and Lane Avenue.
During the repairs, Beaver Street will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Ellis Road, Highway Avenue, Lane Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue will be used as the detour route, Goldman said.
Goldman said the work will result in a smoother ride over the railroad crossing.
Crews will remove the existing crossing and replace it with a new heavy duty concrete surface.
