CONYERS, Ga. -- Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose burning body was discovered by hunters in Rockdale County.
Rockdale County sheriff's Investigator Michael Camp said two hunters discovered the burning body in a small brush fire around 6 p.m. Sunday as they were leaving the woods near Susong Road.
Camp tells the Rockdale Citizen that a deputy who responded to the scene was able to extinguish the fire.
Sheriff's officials are seeking the public's help to identify the body, which was badly burned. Authorities say they were not able to determine the skin color of the victim or an approximate age.
Authorities say the case is being treated as a suspicious death. Camp said the body was being taken to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
