JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A hundred Lego enthusiasts from kindergartens to 9th graders came together Saturday for the 4th LEGO Building Competition at the Museum of Science and History in downtown Jacksonville.

Wanda West, a volunteer membership coordinator at MOSH, said the LEGO build-off gave children an opportunity to compete and with each other and to be creative.

"We don't set limitations," West said. "So their able to just kind of use their imagination."

Participants worked together in teams or as individuals to build original LEGO designs.

The participants were also divided into red, blue and green competitive groups based on their ages, with winners in each category.

Ned Franklin and his brother Henry have participated in the competition for the last four years.

"LEGOs are a way for me to express my ideas," Franklin said. "I like building a lot."

The event was intended to foster creativity and promote science education, according to a statement on MOSH's website.
