Family hosts vigil for Haleigh Cummings on four year anniversary since her disappearance

SATSUMA, Fla. -- Hope continues in a Satsuma community four years after Haleigh Cummings disappeared. A vigil was held Sunday as a reminder that little Haleigh is missing but never forgotten.

Candles were lit, one by one, in hopes of shedding light on Haleigh Cummings' whereabouts. Four years after five -year-old Haleigh disappeared, a Florida community is still searching for answers.

Annette Sykes, Haleigh's great-grandmother, hosted the vigil to remember her. Haleigh was a kindergartner and her family says her favorite colors were purple and pink when she went missing.

Last week Sykes challenged Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy to find Cummings. The Satsuma child disappeared from her home in the middle of the night in 2009. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has released an age-progressed picture of what Haleigh might look like today at age nine.

After the child went missing, her babysitter Misty Croslin told police she put the child to bed at around 8 p .m. and noticed her missing close to 3 a.m. No one was ever arrested in the child's disappearance.

Local police are identifying Haleigh's case as a homicide. Her family believes she is still alive because remains were never found.
