PALM COAST, Fla. - Gunshots rang out at a Palm Coast birthday party leaving one man injured with a gunshot wound to the face Sunday morning, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators with the FSCO said as many as 75-100 people were in attendance at the party, when several gunshots were heard outside in front of the duplex in the Pine Hill Lane neighborhood, according to Lt. Bob Weber with FCSO. Deputies responded to the residence at 2:58 a.m.
Johnnie Thomas, Jr., 19, of Bunnell, was shot once in the face and transported to Florida Hospital Flagler, according to an incident report. Weber said Bunnell was treated at and released from the hospital, no other specifics were given on the severity of his injuries.
Investigators interviewed party goers who witnessed the gunfire, but no leads have been disclosed at this time by the Sheriff's Office. In a written statement Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfre condemned actions of those involved.
"This was a reckless act of violence which endangered the lives of many," he said. "Incidents such as this need to stop before innocent lives are lost."
