JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Call it a good dose of Girl Power!
Around 1,000 women gathered for the 'Generation W' leadership conference.
It was held at the University of North Florida and featured a wide variety of speakers.
Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti was a part of a panel, Gov. Rick Scott also stopped by and NBC's Nancy Snyderman gave the keynote address.
The different workshops addressed issues ranging from entrepreneurship to food and even reinventing yourself.
The organizer, Donna Orender, said she hopes women leave feeling more educated, inspired and connected.
"The power of connection creates broader systemic change and I think that women generally, it is in our core have a real desire to make a difference in the world and today is all about understand what that difference is and how we can work together to do just that," she said.
This is the second year for Generation W at UNF.
