GAINSEVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A north Florida has been sentenced to life in prison for her part in a home invasion robbery.

An Alachua County judge gave 24-year-old Maranda Martin three life terms Thursday. A jury convicted her in January of first-degree murder, home-invasion robbery, kidnapping and other charges.

Authorities say Martin enlisted her cousin, 23-year-old Austin M. Jones, to commit the home-invasion robbery in January 2012 that led to 78-year-old Paul Quandt's death. The old man had been a disabled veteran, and Martin had been hired to take care of him.

The Gainesville Sun reports that Jones awaits trial on similar charges.
