ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A 14-year-old boy had to be Tased on Tuesday after putting a St. Johns County Sheriff's Office deputy into a headlock at Pacetti Bay Middle School.
The teen was arrested and charged with felony battery on an officer, resisting arrest with violence, violation of probation and disorderly conduct, according to a release from SJSO Public Information Officer Kevin Kelshaw.
After a meeting with his parent and school officials, he became upset that he had to return to class. The School Resource Deputy went to escort the teen and the teen then placed the deputy in a headlock.
He also punched the deputy in the mouth and tried to grab at the deputy's handgun on his belt, according to the release.
The deputy then deployed the Taser and secured the teen. After being medically cleared, the teen was then transported to the St. Johns County Jail.
