Clay County has declared a State of Emergency

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Clay County is now under a State of Emergency. A shelter is now open and staffed by the Red Cross at First Baptist Church of Middleburg, 2645 Blanding Blvd.

According to a press release from Clay County Emergency Management, Black Creek continues to rise and is anticipated to exceed 19.3' at approximately 2 p.m. Saturday. Flood stage is 16'.

CCEM said the predictions do not include additional rainfall.

A code RED notification was placed this morning to all residents along the creek, notifying residents of the potential danger of the creek levels.
