OKLAHOMA CITY -- An early-morning argument ended with one woman going ninja on another, police say.
Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, police arrived at a house off Northwest 66th Street to find a woman pinned to the ground after hitting another woman in the head with nunchucks.
Police arrested Lisa Arlene Ward on the spot. Witnesses said Ward arrived at the house with her girlfriend from a nearby bar when an argument soon broke out. At some point, Ward stepped away and returned with the martial arts weapon, hitting another woman once in the head before being taken to the ground.
"Nunchuks are an impact weapon, just like a baton, or a baseball bat." said Oklahoma City Police Capt. Dexter Nelson. "The suspect in this case had made mention to having martial arts expertise, so in that case yes nunchuks could be considered a deadly weapon."
Ward now faces charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. The woman she struck was not seriously injured.
