ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Three Jacksonville men were involved in a New York state train vs. car carrier accident on Friday morning.
According to a release from the Clarkstown Police, a homeowner called around 11:40 a.m. to report the accident, which caused the CSX train and the car carrier to catch fire.
Esad Sadikovic, 55, of Jacksonville was driving the car carrier for EKO Transport and was being treated for multiple fractures.
Engineer Ryan Pauley, 32, and train driver James McCormick, 30, also of Jacksonville, did not have any injuries, according to the release.
CSX released this statement:
"At approximately 11:45 this morning, a CSX train struck a truck at a crossing in West Nyack, N.Y.
"The train was traveling from Philadelphia to Chicago with two locomotives and 99 freight cars.
"Information on the incident can be obtained from the local police. CSX is cooperating with the investigation."
