JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The missing boater from Saturday's boating accident was located Saturday night, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials.
John L. Engleman's body, 62, the operator of the boat involved in the accident, was recovered by Jacksonville Sheriff Office divers around 11:30 p.m.
Gilbert Salinas Jr., 52, was the passenger was rescued by another boater Saturday and taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
Boat hits buoy, 1 injured, 1 missing
Both men are from Jacksonville.
Both men were ejected into the water when their boat, a 2013 19-foot Sundance, struck a buoy in the St. Johns River around 10 a.m. Saturday.
The search for Engleman began and Jacksonville Fire Rescue, JSO and US Coast Guard personnel participated in the search.
Duval Medical Examiner will determine cause of death. The FWC is continuing the investigation.
