ORLANDO, Fla. - Six people have been arrested in a scheme that led to the release of two convicted murdered from a Florida prison, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced Thursday.

The arrests include the two inmates who were mistakenly released, Joseph Jenkins and Charles Walker.

Jenkins and Walker were able to escape the Florida Correctional Institution in September and October.

The FDLE said Jenkins was assisted by an inmate who had previously used fake documents to escape prison, and then Jenkins used that knowledge to help Walker escape.

Jenkins is charged with escape, principle to escape, two counts of conspiracy to commit escape, six counts of forgery and six counts of uttering a forgery. Walker is charged with one count of escape.

The alleged mastermind of the scheme, Nydeed Nashaddai, 48, has been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit escape and two counts of principal to escape. FDLE agents said he taught Jenkins how to forge documents.

Jeffrey Forbes, 30, was charged with one count of escape, forgery, uttering a forgery and conspiracy to commit escape.

Terrance Goodman, 37, Panama City, is accused of driving Jenkins and Walker to Panama City and renting them a motel room. He is charged with one count of harboring a fugitive and two counts of conspiracy to commit escape.

Perhaps the most surprising announcement was that Willie Slater Jr., the brother of a man Walker killed, was also arrested in the scheme.

The FDLE said Slater owed a favor and ensured the forged documents were delivered to the Orange County Clerk's Office.
