COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers chased a 15-year-old female runaway through Lake City Friday morning. The high speed pursuit ended in her arrest after the car she was driving hit two mail boxes, went in a ditch and flipped over, according to FHP.
Troopers were put on the look out for the grey Toyota Camry when it was reported stolen from the Marianna area around 10 a.m.
Lake City troopers saw the Camry on Interstate 75 around 10:30 a.m. When they tried the stop the teen, she sped away on State Road 47.
She sped in between traffic to get away the troopers, according to FHP. When she tried to pass traffic on the right shoulder of the highway she hit two mailboxes, drove into a culvert and flipped over.
The teen was taken to Lake City Medical Center with minor injuries and then released to Columbia County Jail.
She was charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer, reckless driving, grand theft and driving without a license.
