When Florida State and Auburn meet in this year's national championship game, Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston hopes his mom is cheering for his team.
"My mom's an Auburn fan, so she's going to be talking that smack," he said during the Heisman Trophy festivities in New York City this weekend, via the Tallahassee Democrat. "Hopefully she'll be wearing garnet and gold instead of orange and blue to the game."
Winston, who went to Hueytown High School near Birmingham, Ala., will also be celebrating something other than Florida State going to the Rose Bowl on Jan. 6.
"It's my birthday," he said. "They (Auburn) have some great players, and I don't want them to ruin my birthday."
