JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Ten years after Sept. 11 changed the world forever, Jacksonville will mark the anniversary with an event tonight.
The City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Human Rights Commission partnered to host the event. The remembrance is open to the public.
It is scheduled to begin at the Jacksonville Landing at 6:30 p.m.
The event is called Moving Forward with Compassion and Hope. Remarks will come from Naval Station Mayport commanding officer Doug Cochrane. It will end with a candlelight vigil and 21-gun salute.
