ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Sanders Commings wants everyone to take notice of Georgia's defense.
If that means taking a shot at No. 1 LSU before Saturday's Southeastern Conference championship game, so be it.
Commings stirred things up this week by boldly proclaiming that Georgia has a tougher D than LSU, saying "we have better players, a better coach." The Tigers shrugged it off, saying they'll do their talking on the field.
LSU and second-ranked Alabama have drawn most of the attention for their defensive units, with good reason. The Crimson Tide leads the nation in all four major categories, while the Tigers are right on their heels in points and total yards allowed.
Then there's No. 12 Georgia (10-2), which is also prominent in the defensive rankings and eager to make its mark.
