Antalya, Turkey (Sports Network) - The United States continued to lead the weather-shortened World Amateur Team Championship on Saturday.

The U.S. was at 24-under-par 266 through seven holes when third-round play was suspended on Saturday. The tournament, which was reduced from 72 to 54 holes following a six-hour, second-round weather delay, will conclude Sunday.

"The play was solid," said U.S. captain Jim Vernon. "There is still a lot of golf to play, but we are in the best position."

Defending champion France also completed seven holes during Saturday's third round to move into second place at 16-under 275.

Mexico is in third place through seven holes at 15-under, the Republic of Korea sits in fourth at 13-under through seven holes and Germany rounds out the top-5 at 12-under through 11.

The second round was completed earlier Saturday after dangerous conditions allowed only six teams to conclude play on Friday. The U.S. finished the second round at 20-under to lead the Republic of Korea by six strokes.
