ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Jawan Jamison rushed for 112 yards and Jacob Stenson had two rushing touchdowns as The Bolles School defeated Tampa Catholic 21-7 Saturday at the Citrus Bowl in the Class 2B state football final.
The championship is the second straight and 10th overall for Bolles, the most in Florida history. Bulldogs coach Charles Corky Rogers has guided the program to nine of its titles.
Jamison, a senior, did his damage on only 13 carries.
Stenson, also a senior, finished with 88 yards on nine attempts, with a long rush of 43 yards. His touchdown runs, both of which came in the third quarter, covered 43 and 4 yards, and helped the Bulldogs (12-1) turn a 7-0 halftime game into a 21-0 lead.
As a team, Bolles rushed for 272 yards on 43 attempts.
Tampa Catholic (11-2), a state runner-up for the second time in three years, ran the ball exceptionally well at times as tailback Hank McCloud gained 193 yards on 22 carries. But the Crusaders didn't get much offense elsewhere and squandered too many scoring chances, particularly in the first half.
