JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Except on the football field, there are few times Jaguars players, coaches, front office staff and owner Shad Khan make a public appearance together, but it happened at the Jaguars Kickoff Luncheon.
The Jax Chamber Kickoff Luncheon drew a huge crowd, with tickets costing $50 a person. Players and coaches sat and ate with fans during the 90-minute event at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.
"We are going to win together, we are going to make Jacksonville proud and we are going to make history together," said Khan.
The team's new coach Mike Mularkey drew a huge round of applause as he was introduced to the crowd.
"This is a great place, a great fan base," said Mularkey. "Trust me, a lot of good things going on in this community. There's a lot of good things going on with the football team," he said.
The Jaguars on Thursday night wrap up preseason play with a home game against the Atlanta Falcons. The regular season opens on the road on September 9 against the Minnesota Vikings.
