JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have brought back tight end Colin Cloherty to replace recently signed Brett Brackett, who was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Cloherty played in four games for Jacksonville last year and spent the 2012 preseason with the club before being waived Friday. He also has spent time with Indianapolis, Cleveland and San Francisco.
Cloherty had four receptions for 57 yards and three special teams tackles last season. He made his Jaguars debut on Dec. 11 against Tampa Bay, recovered a fumble on special teams and returned it for his first career touchdown.
Jacksonville claimed Brackett off waivers from Philadelphia on Saturday, but he suffered a knee injury in practice Monday. Brackett is Jacksonville's third tight end on IR, joining Zach Miller and Matt Veldman.
