JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In wake of a fan making it onto the field during the Sept. 16 Jacksonville Jaguars home game at EverBank Field, stadium manager SMG is requiring its security sub-contractor to enhance its measures.

Contemporary Services Corporation will now be implementing the following changes, according to a release:

•    Increased manpower and repositioning of certain security personnel on the field.
•    Deployment of new security personnel in certain key positions with increased managerial oversight.
•    Mandatory retraining for security personnel to include NFL and SMG best practices.
•    Additional technology to allow for improved communication between on-field security personnel and the security command center.
•    Incorporating additional layers of field security and surveillance.

SMG, the City of Jacksonville or the Jaguars will not incur any additional costs due to the beefed up security, the release said. CSC will take care of the costs and if SMG determines there are additional staffing needs, budget adjustments will be made in other areas.

Fans are expected to follow the NFL Code of Conduct, "which prohibits anyone from entering the field of play without authorization," the release said. Violation of the rule could result revocation of stadium access/season tickets, ejection and criminal charges.

"The safety and security of fans and players is of the utmost importance to the Jaguars," said Mark Lamping, Jacksonville Jaguars president. "As such, we have a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe behavior, both on the field and in the stands. The security enhancements that SMG has required will help to ensure that game day at EverBank Field is safe and memorable for everyone."

EverBank Field was awarded the National Sport Safety & Security Facility of Merit Award for the 2011 season.
