JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- With the dismissal of Mike Mularkey official, the question now is who will replace the coach?

New General Manager David Caldwell will make the call along with owner Shad Khan. Most feel like the Jags will search for a young, energetic coach.

Caldwell's roomate in college is current San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman.  He seems to be the favorite to get the Jaguars head coaching job at this point.

If the Jags owner wants to make a "splash," another name to keep in mind is former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher.  The 55-year-old said this week he wants to coach again.

If the rumors are true about Tim Tebow playing in Jacksonville next season, two coaches that have ties to the former Nease High School star are Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.

Like Greg Roman, Josh McDaniels went to John Carroll College in Ohio, the same school that David Caldwell attended.  McDaniels was the head coach in Denver when the Broncos drafted Tebow in 2010.

McCoy worked wonders with Tebow in Denver during the 2011 season.  By all accounts, McCoy tailored the offense to fit Tebow's strengths.

Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski and Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden were both candidates for the Jaguars head coaching position last year when Mularkey was hired.

Brian Schottenheimer is currently the Rams offensive coordinator.  He played football at the University of Florida and he's been an offensive coordinator in the NFL with the Jets and Rams.  His father Marty was a long-time head coach in the NFL.

Bruce Arians took over for the ailing Chuck Pagano for most of this past season in Indianapolis.

Lovie Smith was recently fired by the Chicago Bears who won 10 games this past season.

Mike Nolan is currently the defensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons where he worked with new Jaguars general manager David Caldwell.  Nolan has previous head coaching experience with the San Francisco 49ers.
