JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- New Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said the decision to take the job "was a no-brainer."

Owner Shad Khan and General Manager Dave Caldwell introduced Bradley at a news conference Friday.

The team announced on Thursday that former Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Bradley had been hired after being interviewed on Wednesday.

"It's been a whirlwind," Bradley said. "Really high energy."

Jaguars General Manager Dave Caldwell said he was looking for someone who would be a good coach overall.

"I was looking for the right leader of this team," said Caldwell.

The Seattle Seahawks moved quickly to find Bradley's replacement. University of Florida defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is leaving UF to go back to Seattle where he spent a couple years as the Seahawks defensive line coach.

Bradley said becoming a head coach wasn't necessarily in his plans. He said he's just always worked to be the best he could be in every position he's worked in, including linebackers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Moving forward, Bradley said he and Caldwell will work to fill assistant coaching positions, and then move on to evaluating the team's roster.

Bradley said he wants to be explosive on both sides of the ball and bring improvement to the offense.

"If you can run the ball in the NFL, it gives you the opportunity to be more explosive," he said.

Most of all, Bradley said he wants his passion would come through to the players, staff and the fans.

"My whole hope is to be genuine," Bradley said.
