PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- The attorney for the security officer who was allegedly punched Sunday at the Conch House by Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew said his client "suffered a dislocated jaw and spinal injuries."

Attorney Gregory Anderson said in a release that his client Kasim Howard, 31, was attempting to protect female patrons from members of Jones-Drew's entourage.

In surveillance video, which has not yet been made public, Anderson said Jones-Drew "initiated an unprovoked attack on Mr. Howard and then literally ran away from the scene."

In an amended release on Tuesday, St. Augustine Police Department Public Information Officer Mark Samson said "Jones-Drew has not been charged with any crime and maintains his innocence. He is cooperating fully with our investigation."
