JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- He is the current star of the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. The baby jaguar, Khan, is growing more and more everyday!
On Thursday, the little guy had to get a check up and much like a young child, Khan was not a fan of shots. It is still important that the little jaguar gets his vaccinations.
Khan is the first jaguar born in four and a half years at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens and shares a birthday with Shad Khan.
"He wants to play with his mom constantly, he is jumping on her tail and he is trying to grab around her ears," told Dan Maloney, the deputy director of education and conservation.
Those big, blue eyes from Khan's first picture have now turned a honey brown and he is a tough guy, giving off little growls during his exam.
At just over 2-months-old, his mother Zassi still watches over him.
"She makes sure he doesn't wander too far from the nest box and we have him out in that holding yard so he is getting his legs under him and he is doing well," assured Maloney.
Soon you will be able to see Khan in person too; he is expected to be in the public exhibit by Oct. 5.
