GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Adam Brett Walker had three hits and
drove in two runs, helping Jacksonville beat Manhattan 5-4 in the
Gainesville Regional on Saturday.
Walker, who broke the school's single-season record for hits and
total bases, had an RBI double in the first and a run-scoring
single in the seventh as the Dolphins (37-23) eliminated the
Jaspers (34-19) from the NCAA tournament. Jacksonville advanced to play the loser of Saturday's game between Florida and Miami.
Steve Eagerton (9-0) allowed nine hits and two runs in seven
innings for the victory. Eric Luksis (7-4) gave up four runs in 5
1-3 innings for Manhattan.
Manhattan loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, but former
closer Chris Kaminski struck out two of the final three batters for
his first save this season.
