Troy, AL (Sports Network) - Emil Jones scored 17 points off the bench as
the Troy Trojans took care of the ULM Warhawks, 64-55, in Sun Belt Conference
action at Trojan Arena.
Jones led the Trojans (7-10, 2-4 SBC) in scoring for the second consecutive
game while Ray Chambers also reached double figures off the bench with 11
points. Hunter Williams went for 10 points and five assists as the Trojan
reserves outscored the starters, 38-26.
Amos Olatayo netted 17 points to go along with eight rebounds in a losing
effort for ULM (3-9, 2-4), which is yet to win back-to-back games this season.
Marcelis Hansberry added 11 points.
The visitors led 31-28 at halftime after shooting 56 percent from the floor
while holding Troy to just 39.3 percent.
The shots stopped falling for the Warhawks in the second half as they hit just
8-of-23 attempts and 2-of-10 from behind the arc. Troy opened the half on an
11-3 run and never looked back.
Troy took advantage of 13 ULM turnovers by converting them into 17 points. The
Trojans are now 7-2 all-time versus the Warhawks.
