Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Adeiny Hechavarria hit a grand slam and
tied a franchise record with seven RBI, as the Miami Marlins pounded the
Philadelphia Phillies, 14-2, on Sunday in the finale of a four-game set at
Citizens Bank Park.
Hechavarria added a bases-loaded triple during his offensive onslaught, while
Marcell Ozuna went 4-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Justin
Ruggiano added a pair of homers, three RBI and four runs scored for the
Marlins, who had dropped three straight before taking the final two games of
Kevin Slowey (1-2) struck out seven over seven scoreless frames of two-hit,
two-walk ball to notch his first victory in his seventh start of the season.
After managing just one hit in Saturday's setback, the Phillies registered
just four hits Sunday, with Freddy Galvis' run-scoring ground out in the
eighth accounting for the team's lone run batted in.
Roy Halladay (2-4) was shelled for the second straight outing, giving up nine
runs on four hits and four walks in just 2 1/3 innings.
The veteran right-hander allowed eight runs on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings
against the Cleveland Indians on April 30.
