St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays have provided a
medical update on starting pitcher J.A. Happ.
The left-hander was responsive and doing well after suffering a head contusion
and laceration to his left ear when he was struck by a line drive during
Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay.
The team expects Happ to be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday after
undergoing further tests.
Happ was floored when Desmond Jennings hit a scorcher up the middle. The ball
hit the side of Happ's face and ricocheted up the right-field line.
Once play was halted, medical staff tended to Happ before removing him from
the field on a stretcher.
