Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron left
Saturday's Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Near the midway point of the second period, he took a short shift and appeared
to be in discomfort. He stayed on the bench for the rest of the period, but
only took one more brief shift.
When the Bruins came out for the start of the third period, Bergeron wasn't on
the bench and the team later announced that he was taken to a local hospital
No word on the nature or extent of the injury has been announced.
Bergeron has nine goals and six assists over 21 games in the playoffs.
