TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida State has returned to the Top 25 after five weeks of looking in from the outside.
The Seminoles (7-3, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) have reeled off five straight wins and climbed back into the rankings at No. 23 after Saturday's 23-19 victory over rival Miami.
Being back in the Top 25 is some solace in a season that began with sky-high expectations which were doused by three straight early losses.
Florida State still doesn't have a win against a team with a better than .500 record, but that can change Saturday if the Seminoles defeat visiting Virginia (7-3, 4-2 ACC). The Cavaliers are still in contention for the ACC's Coastal Division title.
