ATLANTA (AP) - Florida State has been rewarded with a No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament after winning its first Atlantic Coast Conference championship.
About three hours after knocking off North Carolina for the ACC title in Atlanta, the Seminoles learned they'll face 14th-seeded St. Bonaventure in an opening-round game at Nashville, Tenn., on Friday.
Florida State, ranked 17th, will enter the NCAAs on a major roll. The Seminoles (24-9) knocked off sixth-ranked Duke in the ACC semifinals, then took out the fourth-ranked Tar Heels in the ACC title game Sunday.
Florida State will be facing St. Bonaventure (20-11), which got in the 68-team field by winning its first Atlantic 10 tournament.
