Lipscomb University won its second Atlantic Sun Conference Championship with an 8-7 win over North Florida (45-16) this evening at Swanson Stadium. The Ospreys who played their way in to the championship series earlier in the day were eliminated with the loss.

Top-seeded North Florida earned its way into the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship game with an 8-2 victory over FGCU in this afternoon's elimination game. The Ospreys will be back on the field Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. to take on Lipscomb, needing two wins to capture the Atlantic Sun title.

A weather delay in the Stetson/FGCU afternoon contest forced the postponement of North Florida's Friday night game of the Atlantic Sun Conference Baseball Tournament. The Ospreys will now play FGCU Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Dewees Named a Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist

For the second-straight year, the North Florida baseball team has a semifinalist for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award. Redshirt sophomore Donnie Dewees was one of 21 players listed as a semifinalist the award annually given out to the top amateur baseball player in the U.S.

North Florida (44-14) collected 14 more hits and got another excellent pitching effort in an 8-3 victory over Jacksonville (26-30) this afternoon. The Ospreys move to 2-0 in the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament and will play Lipscomb at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

University of North Florida men's tennis Jack Findel-Hawkins' season came to an end on Wednesday afternoon after suffering a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Southern California's Roberto Quiroz in the Round of 64 at the NCAA Singles Championship held at Baylor University's Hurd Tennis Center.

In a rematch of the regular season finale, North Florida (43-14) bested Kennesaw State, 14-0 in the opening game of the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. The top-seeded Ospreys recorded their fourth shutout of the season and move on in the double-elimination tournament.
