The North Florida men's soccer team continued its impressive offensive play this evening with a 3-1 win over NJIT in the final game of the Mike Gibbs Memorial Tournament. The Ospreys who improve to 2-0 on the year have scored eight goals in two games, the most to begin a season in program history.

Although University of North Florida volleyball played three tight sets, the Ospreys were unable to withstand late comebacks by High Point in each set and ultimately fell 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) in the final day of the Duke Invitational at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday.

The North Florida men's soccer team opened up the 2014 season with a 5-2 victory over Florida Atlantic University (0-1) this evening in front of 1,178 fans at Hodges Stadium. The crowd is the third largest in school history and largest ever in a soccer season opener.

Although there were several impressive moments, University of North Florida volleyball dropped both of its matches during the first day of the season-opening Duke Invitational at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Ospreys hung tough with No. 21 Duke in a 3-0 (25-22, 25-10, 25-19) loss before falling 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-14) to Furman.

The North Florida women's soccer team (0-3) came up short this evening, dropping a 1-0 decision to Lafayette (2-0) at Hodges Stadium. A second half goal by the Leopards proved to be the difference in the tightly contested, non-conference tilt.
Regionally Ranked #OspreyXC Squads Start Season Saturday

The North Florida cross country teams open up their 2014 race schedule at the Hatter Invitational hosted by Stetson on Saturday morning. Both squads were regionally ranked by the USTFCCA in the South Region with the women's team listed No. 11 and the men's group claiming the No. 12 spot.

University of North Florida volleyball begins the 2014 season with the two-day Duke Invitational Friday and Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Ospreys start the tournament with No. 21 Duke at Noon and Furman at 5 p.m., on Friday. Season-opening weekend concludes on Saturday with High Point at 1 p.m.
