In 1983, THE PLAYERS was the first event to have electronic scoreboards.
In 2008, THE PLAYERS was on of the first spring events to use Twitter.
This year, THE PLAYERS has implemented several initiatives to make sure the fans stay connected:
Devices - Fans are permitted to bring their PDAs, cellphones and tablets onto the grounds.
Cell Service - To makes sure fans have an easy and convenient mobile device access this year, both Verizon and AT&T are supplying "Cellular on Wheels" units (COWs) to expand cellular service.
WiFi hotspots will also be available in these select areas: The Grove, The Patio, Stadium Village and Club 1791 at Taste of Jax.
The PGA TOUR App is available for download on iPhone, Android, iPad and Windows phones. The free app features live leaderboard and score boards, play by play coverage, and more.
