JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man is facing murder charges after police said he beat his girlfriend to death on Wednesday.
Kishon Birch, 32, was arrested Wednesday after a violent attack on Rolanda Harrell, 28, at the Caroline Arms Apartments in Arlington, according to a police report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Harrell was found by police just after 4 p.m., slumped against the counters and on the floor "lying in a very large pool of blood," according to the report.
A neighbor witnessed Birch fleeing from the apartment after hearing the attack. The police report indicates that Harrell's children, an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old, witnessed the attack.
The 8-year-old told neighbors and police that "her 'mommy's' boyfriend was 'slinging her around,'" according to the report. Both children said Harrell fell and blood came out of her mouth, and then Birch tried to pick Harrell up and then dropped her.
The argument between Harrell and Birch started after Harrell accused Birch of seeing another woman, after which Birch slapped her.
Birch "uttered on two separate occasions that this was an 'accident,'" according to the report.
