JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Homicide detectives are working to identify a woman killed in a train accident around 2 a.m. this morning.
It happened on tracks off of US-17 just south of the gates for Naval Air Station Jacksonville on the Westside.
Investigators said the conductor realized the CSX train had hit something, stopped the train and reported the accident.
The train sat on the track for a few hours while JSO collected evidence.
Detectives said there was nothing suspicious about the accident.
They believe the victim was a woman, possibly in her 40s.
