GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gainesville Police Department made a plea Friday to the public for help in finding a University of Florida student who went missing on Sept. 20.

The GPD is trying to account for the whereabouts of Pedro Bravo during the time period Christian Aguilar went missing. Bravo was arrested Monday for obstruction of justice and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Police cannot account for where Bravo was between the time he was last seen with Aguliar -- entering a Best Buy Thursday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. to buy the new Kanye West CD -- and at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, according to GPD Public Information Officer Ben Tobias.

Police are asking businesses to look at their surveillance video during this time period to see if they recognize Bravo's 2004 Chevrolet Blazer.

Bravo originally told police that he got into an accident a week before Christian disappeared and had to replace the rim, but that information cannot be confirmed, according to Tobias.

GPD previously reported that Bravo said he had an altercation with Aguilar on Thursday, Sept. 20 in the evening and left him in a parking lot in the 4900 block of NW 13th Street.

Several days before Aguilar's disappearance, Bravo purchased a roll of duct tape and a shovel, but the actual shovel has not been located, Tobias said.

Aguilar's cellphone has not yet been found and the last known activity from the phone was Sept. 20 at 8:14 p.m. when the phone was powered off. Several phones were found during foot searches Tuesday, but not Christian's.
