JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Vocational students at Florida State College at Jacksonville whose financial aid was delayed due to a change in distribution are eligible for short-term loans.

200 students were notified Monday that the loans are now available and authorized by Florida State College Foundation Board Chair Wade Barnes, Jr., according to a release from FSCJ's Michael Corby.

Financial aid should become available this week, Corby said. Those that apply for the short-term loan Monday should have monies available to them by Wednesday.

Students can apply at their respective campus' Financial Aid Office and meet with the Dean of Student Success. Those approved will be eligible for up to $1,000, or what is still owed to them after the cost of books, fees and tuition is met, whichever is less, Corby said.

Short-term loan approval is limited to students who are not able to access their financial aid due to circumstances beyond their control. Individuals who have previously unpaid debt are not eligible to receive a short-term loan.
