AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. -- When you've been in the same spot for three decades, selling what is essential for the dinner table, you become a household name.
"We use to ride four wheelers back in there. That's just how long we've been here," said Dub Mullis.
Mullis said Terry's Produce is a landmark on Amelia Island and now it is being forced to move.
"We've got customers we've had for 30 years," he said, "We're in Travel magazine showing this is the stop to get peanuts."
Terry's Produce has been told by the landlord that new development is on the way and there's no room for them. His landlord is the nearby Flash Foods convenience store.
"They're going to tear this building down and build a new store," said Mullis. "We were told because of the contract, they're not going to allow us on here."
It is family-owned and Mullis said if they have to move, it will be another small business that bites the dust.
"I don't know where we will go," he said.
Mullis is convinced that a nearby grocery store is behind his landlord's decision to end his rental agreement.
"We're trying to see what we can do to stay," he said.
Kathy Aldridge with Flash Foods Real Estate said Mullis is a good tenant, but the property is deed restricted.
"When we rebuild, there's no room for his business," she said.
She said they are now in the permitting stages with Florida DOT and the St. Johns Water Management District and once they get the approval, they will begin the project.
"We've offered him a couple of other locations," said Aldridge, "but it doesn't seem like they're interested."
She said they've been trying to develop the property at the corner of A1A and Fletcher Avenue for years. The project may begin in two weeks or two months.
"He can stay there until the project begins," said Aldridge.
