ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. -- A 35-year-old man wanted by police in Alachua County has been taken into custody.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a trooper pulled over Trevor Flum, just before 9 p.m. Saturday on State Road 93 Southbound in Alachua County.
Police say he took off running into a wooded area and when he came out, he hit the trooper in the head with a large tree branch, knocking him to the ground.
Flum fled deeper into the woods, and was able to evade capture at the time.
Sunday evening, the FHP reported that Deputy Marvin Gunn and Trooper Matthew Simmons located Flum on the west side of I-75 near a gas station, and took him into custody just after 9:00 this morning.
